Women Grow The Farm
February 10, 2026Women Grow the Farm 2026 Conference had a lot of great information. I was fortunate to be able to present on “Evaluating your Capacity for Growth and Transition” This session was designed to provide tools to help participants decide if , when and what type of transition or growth might be justified for their operation.
We looked at the concept of capacity as the ability to take on, sustain or deliver work. The information will provide a framework to guide participants through evaluating six key types of capacity- time, emotional, skills, social/relational, operational, and financial-before committing to new projects. Each type includes reflective questions to help individuals assess whether they have the necessary resources, support systems, knowledge, stamina, and infrastructure to move forward without creating undue strain or risk.
Below are resources that were mentioned in the presentation to help you walk through this process of evaluation.
