Family and Consumer Sciences

K-State Research and Extension is a leader in providing research-based information and education for creating strong, healthy Kansas Communities. We strive to improve family relationships, develop consumer and financial management skills and help Kansas balance the demands of work, family and community.

Healthy Living Tips

The food we eat and how much we move both have great impacts on our overall health. A diet rich of fruits and vegetables helps fuel and maintain a healthy body. Physical activity strengthens bones and muscles, improves cardiovascular health, protects against many health conditions, increases energy, controls weight, and improves mental health and mood.

Plan meals for the week before heading to the grocery store, says a K-State Research and Extension nutrition specialist.
